IntelliTrack Releases RFID Software that Scans a Roomful of Fixed Assets All at Once

Baltimore, MD, June 21, 2006 –Intellitrack Inc., the leading developer of affordable software for barcode and RFID data collection, announced a new, RFID version of their popular DMS Fixed Assets software.  Banks, educational institutions, government agencies and corporations need to track millions of dollars worth of fixed assets, including: office equipment, computers and furniture.  Every year these organizations need to take inventory, perform preventative maintenance and record depreciation of their fixed assets. IntelliTrack DMS Fixed Assets version 5.2 provides all of these functions with a higher degree of automation and accuracy than previous systems.

"We have seen strong interest from CFO's and other operations executives," said James Budniakiewicz, president of IntelliTrack.  "When you're responsible for filing financial reports, and keeping expenses under control, you need to have the most accurate and efficient fixed assets system available."

In live tests, IntelliTrack Fixed Assets RFID reduced physical inventory take time by 75% compared to traditional barcode-based solutions.  The savings was over 95% versus manual "pencil and paper" systems.

The most important new feature of IntelliTrack's Fixed Assets RFID allows an immediate reconciliation of assets on a room by room basis, eliminating the need for line of sight barcode scanning. Assets are recorded by location using a  portable data terminal (PDT). Using wireless RFID interrogation, all the assets in a room are simultaneously identified, compared against a master database, and recorded as missing, invalid, or valid.

“When you take an assets physical inventory, you used to have to bend down or move objects to scan a barcode.  It was very labor intensive. With RFID technology, you can read all the assets in a room in few seconds. No more sore knees and backs!” said James Budniakiewicz, president IntelliTrack. "In addition to saving time, RFID tags provide greater data security than barcode labels.  RFID tags are difficult to copy, and the data is stored on long-lasting chips.  Barcodes can fade and deteriorate over time, so RFID tags are really superior for fixed assets tracking."
