Success Story: ATC InternationalCompany Overview:
Business Challenge:A client of ATC has a large inventory of men’s socks rotating through their Silver Spring, Maryland warehouse. The client’s socks are distributed through major US retailers. Being a small item, the socks require many SKUs (Stock keeping units) to account for each pair. In addition, the socks require many small shipments all of which must be accounted for. Prior to installing IntelliTrack software, ATC was managing all of their warehouse inventory and shipments manually and drastically needed to improve their accuracy and efficiency to support their clients’ growth. ATC also needed to avoid charge backs from the retailers distributing their client’s socks. If an order of socks was over or under shipped the retailer would call for extra charges. The Solution:Several years ago, ATC decided to hire an outside consulting firm to perform an assessment of their warehouse. The consulting firm proposed that ATC adopt a warehouse management system with IntelliTrack WMS as their number one recommendation. After following up with several IntelliTrack customers and analyzing the competition, ATC determined IntelliTrack was the best fit for their warehousing requirements. In addition to meeting inventory and warehousing needs IntelliTrack was also able to offer a direct plug-in to QuickBooks accounting software. After installing WMS, ATC later decided to purchase IntelliTrack’s QuickBooks plug-in. ATC has been a QuickBooks user for over 10 years and thus was able to connect their warehousing system with their existing accounting programs. Prior to installing both IntelliTrack WMS and QuickBooks plug-in, ATC spent up to eight hours per week on double data entry into the two systems. Since automating their warehouse, ATC saves approximately $20,000 and 800 man hours each year between administrative and warehousing operations. IntelliTrack’s WMS and QuickBooks Plug-in currently allow ATC International to account for a constantly moving inventory of approximately $240,000 – $270,000 in men’s socks. The Bottom Line:IntelliTrack’s WMS has allowed ATC International to control and expand their business very quickly when needed allowing them to handle growth with out a problem. During peak shipping, ATC knows they can get anyone in the warehouse to operate a scanner and their inventory and picking will be accurate. In addition, IntelliTrack WMS allows ATC to receive all inventories and order information electronically through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) so they can now offer inventory at any time. IntelliTrack’s WMS and QuickBooks plug-in saves ATC valuable man hours in the warehouse and in the office. By saving $20,000 and 800 man hours each year, IntelliTrack has helped contribute to ATC’s overall business growth and achievements. ATC International has achieved several small business awards and doubled sales the past three years and counting. Learn more about ATC International by visiting www.atcinternational.net. |
