Software Services Engineer

IntelliTrack is searching for someone to join its Software Services Team as a full-time Software Engineer.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Customization, modification, and maintenance of our off-the-shelf software applications
  • Development of custom software programs
  • Working with customers to develop a requirements definition
  • Documenting modifications
  • Delivering a top quality solution to the customer
  • Adherence to source control procedures using Visual SourceSafe
  • Customer training and on-site installations (30-35% travel required)

Requirements:

The Software Services Engineer will have direct contact with IntelliTrack’s customer and their end users. Therefore, the candidate must have strong communication and presentation skills along with the ultimate desire to assist the customer to achieve a solution that meets their goals.

  • 2-3 years experience programming in Microsoft environments
  • Customer service focus with good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Programming with MS Access and Visual Basic (VB6) in a client/server environment
  • Understanding of relational databases including SQL Server 7 and 2000
  • Willingness to learn both old and new technologies
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Good organizational skills. Must be able to juggle multiple assignments
  • Must be willing to travel 35% of time; travel includes day trips and overnight trips

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Microsoft .NET C# or VB.NET experience
  • Web development using ASP or ASP.NET
  • Pocket PC development using Embedded VB (eVB) or EVC++
  • Installation technologies such as Wise and MSI
  • T-SQL and stored procedure programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and wireless networking (802.11b)
  • Crystal Reports and Microsoft Access report writing
  • Use of COM and object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts
  • Experience with Palm OS application programming
