Engineer

IntelliTrack is looking for an engineer to join its software development team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing custom batch data-collection application for Pocket PC and Windows Mobile handheld devices using C#, C++, and Visual Studio.Net.
  • Designing and developing multi-tiered client-server applications using Visual Basic 6, Visual Studio .NET 2003, and Microsoft Access.
  • Designing and developing wireless data-collection applications for mobile devices in Wireless Local Area Network and Wide Area Network environments.
  • Designing and developing server applications based on a distributed architecture using object oriented methodologies and relational databases such as MS SQL Server.
  • Implementing messaging protocols between the Client and the Server applications using XML (extensible markup language).
  • Interaction with clients to better understand their requirements and to prepare quotes.
  • Development of custom application and off-the-shelf products.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years experience programming in Microsoft environments
  • Customer service focus with good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Programming with MS Access and Visual Basic (VB6) in a client/server environment
  • Understanding of relational databases including SQL Server 7, 2000, and 2005
  • Willingness to learn both old and new technologies
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Good organizational skills. Must be able to juggle multiple assignments

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Microsoft .NET C# or VB.NET experience
  • Web development using ASP or ASP.NET
  • Pocket PC development using Embedded VB (eVB) or C#
  • Installation technologies such as Wise and MSI
  • T-SQL and stored procedure programming
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and wireless networking (802.11b)
  • Crystal Reports and Microsoft Access report writing
  • Use of COM and object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts
